Location

Where are you located?

We are located in the town of Somers, WI.  Just 15 minutes north of the Illinois border.  Somers is located between the towns of Kenosha and Racine.  We are about 2 miles east off I-94.

What is your studio like?

Our 'studio' is our home!  We have an area set-up with backdrops, lights, props and such - ready to take your pets pictures.  We also have a very picturesque barn that we can use as a backdrop if desired.

Scheduling

How long is the basic session at your location?

One hour.  We suggest you arrive a little early and walk your dog to let them relieve themselves and get settled before we start.  If your pet is not used to going new places or meeting strangers you may want to purchase additional time so your pet can get acclimated to our studio before we start taking pictures.

How long is an on-location session?

Two hours.  We will be setup and ready to go at the scheduled time - you have two hours from then.

How much does it cost to purchase additional time for the sessions?

$25 per half hour.

How Does it Work?

How does it all work - from the beginning to getting the pictures?

First you contact us and we schedule a time and location for your session.  After the session is complete it takes roughly one week before the pictures are available on the internet for preview.  The preview pictures have only minor corrections made to them - for color and exposure.  Once you select the pictures you want we will make the final corrections and have the photographs printed (or the files created or the CD burned).  The pictures are then mailed to you via the US Post Office.  Any picture order that exceed your photo credit (included in the session fee) can be paid by check, money order or PayPal.  We reserve the right to hold picture orders until personal checks have cleared our bank.

How to Prepare

How should I prepare my pet for being photographed?

Try to exercise the pet an hour or so before the scheduled time.  That way they are tired but not panting or breathing heavy.  Pets should be hungry during their sessions - they work better for food rewards that way!

What should I bring to the session?

Your dogs favorite toys, their best collar (or they can go naked), ribbons or trophies - whatever you would like in their pictures.

I want to be in the picture - what should I wear?

Solid colors are best - patterned clothing can sometimes appear 'busy' in a photograph.  If you are unsure, bring a few different items!  We have changing areas for you to use.  Also, if you have a dark dog try to wear light clothing.  The reverse is true for light or white dogs.  If you plan to hold the dog on your lap or in your arms you don't want the dog to blend into your clothing.

What if my dog doesn't behave during the session?

We've had experience with pets that are less than cooperative - it's not a problem.  And sometimes they give us the best pictures!  It's a good idea to bring your pet slightly tired to the session - so they are more relaxed.
